Pu Sam Cap Caves

Located about 6 kilometers distant from Lai Chau Township to the west, alongside the path to Sin Ho Highland are ranges of limestone which have been formed since the prehistoric era with the unique Karst topography. Its special terrain has created a system of limestone caves inside the mountains and a wide range of miraculous stalactites.

These caves are called altogether Pu Sam Cap Caves, meaning three big mountains heaped up together.

Covering a total area of 600 hectares, Pu Sam Cap is a place full of wonder and mysteries to those who are interested in natural landscapes. Inside, the caves present marvelous arrangements of thousands-year-old stalactites and limestone groups of unique shapes. Thien Mon and Thien Duong, two largest caves of the complex, have been recently put into discovery and exploitation.

Stalactites of the caves enchant visitors with their miraculous shapes, varying from dragons, lions, towers… and most impressive shapes namely as stone terrace fields with small water springs contained inside. The caves’ structures and their heritages are mysterious creations of the nature, lying outstandingly in harmonious association with other North West landscapes.
